Grocery Request (London)
NEW UPDATE: Thank you everyone for your support along the way. It is heartwarming to see so many members of the community rally around this cause. The London VTF was intended to be a short-term service to bridge the gap until alternatives for grocery delivery were formed. With the rise in long-term and more concrete services and solutions, we have seen a remarkable decrease in requests for our own service. Thus, we will be closing our services by July 1. In the meantime, please begin forming plans for using alternative options. Please take a look at the commercial options we have on our homepage and the two other resources below:
The service will be offered to bridge the gap for as long as possible until an alternative is provided by local administrations. We are volunteer students and do have busy schedules, but we will try our best to provide in a timely and effective manner. We are looking to provide a no-contact, drop-off service that maintains the safety of both volunteers and those using the service. We follow the guidelines set out by the Middlesex-London Health Unit, Ontario Government, and other authoritative bodies to do so. However, this is a volunteer service and by no means risk free, we are just looking to mitigate the potential risk for those who would otherwise have to go to the grocery store in person. Please read the guidelines on our About page.
Due to shortages, requested items may not be available and we will work with you to try and provide non-perishables. Payment will be done via E-transfer when appropriate.
